The Role
We’re looking for an SEO Specialist who blends technical rigor with editorial empathy to drive sustainable organic growth for an India-focused online casino information platform. You’ll architect and execute SEO strategies that help readers discover accurate, trustworthy guidance on casinos, games, bonuses, and payment methods. Your remit spans the full funnel—from technical health and crawl efficiency to search intent mapping, content briefs, internal linking, and performance measurement. You’ll partner closely with editors, designers, and product managers to ensure that user-first content is easy to find, easy to read, and aligned with responsible-gambling standards.
You will thrive if you enjoy diagnosing site issues, modeling opportunities by search intent, building repeatable playbooks, and coaching teammates on SEO best practices without compromising editorial integrity. This role is hands-on: you’ll ship improvements weekly, validate results, and scale what works.
Responsibilities
- Own the SEO roadmap across technical, on-page, and content architecture initiatives; prioritize high-ROI work based on impact and effort.
- Conduct keyword research tailored to Indian audiences, clustering topics by intent (informational, comparative, transactional) and seasonality.
- Build content strategies: produce briefs with SERP analyses, entity coverage, FAQs, and internal link targets to maximize topical depth and discoverability.
- Run technical audits to improve crawlability, indexation, and site health (sitemaps, canonicalization, robots directives, page speed, Core Web Vitals).
- Optimize on-page elements including titles, meta descriptions, headers, schema hints, image alt text, and internal link structures that guide users logically.
- Strengthen information architecture with clear category hubs, comparison pages, and glossary structures; reduce duplication and cannibalization.
- Track performance using dashboards for rankings, impressions, CTR, traffic quality, and engagement; turn insights into prioritized action items.
- Collaborate with editorial to maintain accuracy on regulated topics, align with style and compliance guidelines, and reinforce trust signals.
- Develop link-earning playbooks via useful resources, data-led content, and ethically sound outreach to relevant, high-quality publications.
- Champion responsible play by ensuring content signposts safer-gambling resources and avoids misleading or aggressive language.
Requirements
- Proven SEO experience delivering measurable organic growth in competitive niches; regulated or finance/gaming experience is a plus.
- Technical SEO proficiency: you can read logs, interpret crawl reports, and specify fixes for common issues (redirects, canonical chains, duplication).
- Content SEO mastery: comfort with intent mapping, entity coverage, and structuring articles for clarity, E-E-A-T, and helpfulness.
- Tool fluency across keyword research, rank tracking, site auditing, and analytics. You can build concise dashboards that illuminate next actions.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to size opportunities, model potential impact, and create convincing business cases for prioritization.
- Clear communication skills—capable of writing precise briefs, documenting experiments, and presenting findings to non-SEO stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Indian market nuances including payment methods (e.g., UPI, wallets, bank transfers), device behavior, and local search patterns.
Nice to Have
- Experience designing schema strategies (FAQ, HowTo, ItemList, breadcrumb, and relevant review/comparison patterns).
- Comfort working with CMS workflows, content templates, and reusable components that scale quality.
- Exposure to programmatic SEO concepts and safeguards to avoid thin or duplicative pages.
- Understanding of Core Web Vitals trade-offs and how to partner with engineering/design to improve UX without harming content depth.
How You’ll Work
This is a remote role embracing asynchronous collaboration and clear ownership. You’ll maintain a prioritized backlog, define acceptance criteria for fixes, and partner with editors to ensure SEO recommendations support readability and trust. Expect weekly releases, small experiments, and transparent reporting. You’ll document learnings, templatize repeatable wins, and retire tactics that don’t move the needle.
